Magnetite ("we", "us", "our") operates Whisprompt, an AI-powered voice-tracking teleprompter application and the website at whisprompt.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Service.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and, optionally, your name. Authentication is handled by Clerk, a third-party identity provider. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email and display name from those providers.
Payment Information
Payments are processed by Stripe (web), Apple (iOS/macOS App Store), or Google (Play Store). We never store your full credit card number, CVV, or bank details. We receive a payment confirmation, subscription status, and a customer identifier from each payment processor.
Audio Data
Whisprompt processes all audio entirely on your device. Your voice is captured by the microphone, transcribed locally using the Whisper speech recognition model, and immediately discarded. No audio data is ever transmitted to our servers or any third party. We have no access to your voice recordings or transcriptions.
Scripts & Content
Scripts you create in the app are stored locally on your device. If you use the cloud backup feature (available on Yearly and Lifetime plans), your scripts are stored in our database (powered by Convex) and are encrypted in transit and at rest. We do not read, analyze, or share your scripts.
Usage & Analytics Data
We may collect anonymized usage data such as which features are used, session duration, and crash reports to improve the Service. This data does not identify you personally and does not include any audio or script content.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- To process payments and manage your subscription
- To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password resets, payment receipts)
- To respond to support requests
- To detect and prevent fraud or abuse
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not train AI models on your audio or scripts.
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate Whisprompt:
- Clerk — Authentication and user management
- Stripe — Payment processing (web)
- Apple / Google — Payment processing (mobile app stores)
- RevenueCat — Mobile subscription management
- Convex — Database for license records and cloud-synced settings
- Google Cloud — Website hosting (Cloud Run)
Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them. We only share the minimum data required for each service to function (e.g., your email with Clerk, your payment token with Stripe).
4. Data Retention
We retain your account and license data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or request data deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Some data may be retained longer if required by law (e.g., payment records for tax compliance).
5. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, encrypted storage for sensitive records, and secure authentication via Clerk. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Object to certain processing of your data
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

7. Children's Privacy
Whisprompt is not intended for children under 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Our services are hosted in the United States. If you are accessing the Service from outside the US, your data may be transferred to and processed in the US. We rely on standard contractual clauses and other lawful mechanisms for international transfers.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
