Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Whisprompt, operated by Magnetite ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Whisprompt is an AI-powered teleprompter application that uses on-device speech recognition to track your voice and scroll your script in real-time. The Service includes the desktop application (macOS, Windows, Linux), mobile applications (iOS, Android), and the website at whisprompt.com.

2. Accounts

You must create an account to use Whisprompt. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information when creating your account and keep it up to date. One person or entity may not maintain more than one account.

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, notify us immediately at support@whisprompt.com.

3. Subscriptions & Payments

Plans

Whisprompt offers the following plans:

  • Monthly — $9/month, billed monthly, cancel anytime
  • Yearly — $79/year, billed annually, cancel anytime
  • Lifetime — $249 one-time payment, access forever

All plans include access to the full application on all platforms. Prices are in USD and may be subject to applicable taxes.

Billing

Web purchases are processed by Stripe. Mobile purchases (iOS and Android) are processed through the respective app stores (Apple App Store, Google Play Store) and are subject to their terms and pricing.

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account dashboard, Stripe customer portal, or the relevant app store.

Refunds

Web purchases (Stripe): We offer a 14-day refund policy. If you are not satisfied, contact us within 14 days of your initial purchase for a full refund. Refunds for subsequent renewal payments are handled on a case-by-case basis.

App Store / Play Store purchases: Refunds are handled by Apple and Google respectively, according to their refund policies. Please contact them directly for app store refund requests.

AppSumo purchases: AppSumo purchases are subject to AppSumo's refund policy (typically 60 days). Refunds are processed through AppSumo.

Price Changes

We may change our prices from time to time. Price changes will not affect existing subscriptions until the next renewal. We will notify you at least 30 days before any price increase takes effect on your subscription.

4. License Grant

Subject to these Terms and your active subscription, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Whisprompt for personal or commercial use. This license is for a single user — you may install the application on multiple devices you own, but may not share your account or license with others.

You may not:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application
  • Copy, modify, or distribute the application
  • Sublicense, rent, or lease access to the Service
  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to circumvent license verification or payment systems
  • Use automated tools to access the Service in a way that exceeds normal use

5. Your Content

You retain full ownership of all scripts, text, and content you create or upload to Whisprompt. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content. We do not access, read, or use your content for any purpose other than providing the Service (e.g., cloud backup sync).

6. Audio Processing

Whisprompt uses on-device AI (Whisper.cpp) to process your audio. All speech recognition happens locally on your device. We do not receive, store, or process any audio data. Your voice never leaves your device.

7. Availability & Updates

We strive to keep Whisprompt available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may release updates, patches, and new features at our discretion. Desktop and mobile applications may require periodic updates for continued functionality.

We reserve the right to discontinue the Service with at least 90 days' notice. If we discontinue the Service, we will provide prorated refunds for any unused subscription time.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or abuse the Service. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your license to use the Service ends immediately.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Speech recognition accuracy depends on factors including audio quality, background noise, accent, and the selected Whisper model size. We do not guarantee specific levels of transcription accuracy.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MAGNETITE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUE, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Magnetite is incorporated, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the relevant arbitration association, except where prohibited by law.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page, updating the "Last updated" date, and sending an email to registered users. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
